How to be Trained in School Neuropsychology
To claim competency in school neuropsychology there are five educational paths that may be chosen:
- Obtain a Ph.D. in School Psychology with an area of specialization in school/pediatric neuropsychology and have documented supervised experience working with children in the field.
- Obtain a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an area of specialization in pediatric neuropsychology and have documented supervised experience working with children in the field
- Obtain a Ph.D. in School Psychology or Clinical Psychology without the child/pediatric neuropsychology specialization but after graduation complete a competency-based school neuropsychology post-graduate certification program, like the one offered by KIDS, Inc (www.schoolneuropsych.com).
- Obtain a specialist-level of training in school psychology and after graduation complete a competency-based school neuropsychology post-graduate certification program, like the one offered by KIDS, Inc. (www.schoolneuropsych.com).
